This Week's Round-Up
The 6 Categories of Passive Income, Explained
The term "passive income" is every TikTok and YouTube influencers favorite term to bait people hungry for easy money. I'm convinced that truly passive income doesn't exist in the generally understood sense of the term, and in the few instances where it does, I believe the up-front cost to develop the system or product needed to generate it weed out most of the people who wanted it in the first place.
With that said, this is an interesting articles outlining different methods of "passive income." The article starts with profit income, which is anything but passive, and makes me question what defines "passive" by Time, but the definitions and outlines of the 6 categories proved useful enough for me to include the link below.
What Goes Up Must Come Down: The Pandemic Era’s Hottest Markets Are Leading the U.S. in Price Reductions
Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that the housing market has finally cooled off, with price reductions and decreases in demand hitting a number of major markets throughout the country. This proves even more true in the 10 states that had the hottest stretches from 2020-2022 (think Florida, Texas, Arizona).
The question now is: will this trend continue? Will price reductions continue until the market's floor falls out, or will buyers come back into the market at these prices even with high interest rates? Time will tell...

Worth a read if you want a little more detail on getting started on Amazon.
Idea of the Week - Car Flipping
Disclaimer: I've never tried this side hustle, but, I've been in love with reselling and flipping things for years, so it's only natural that I've heard of this higher $$$ flipping method and would be curious about it.
The gist of the idea is this: most people aren't good at pricing their used vehicles, which creates a huge market inefficiency. Buyers in the know can skim through car listings on sites like Facebook and Craigslist and find cars at good values which create margins for reselling.
Of course, the whole process is a little more complex than that, but the guy who does this regularly says he can accomplish an entire flip (research, purchasing, and selling) in three hours or less. For more details and to read more, click the link below.
